Share with all your heart, even if it’s just a smile!
On the 21st of January 2023, a few members from the District Interact Board 3190 accompanied by Rotaractors and a Rotarian started our journey to MM Hills early in the morning. On reaching there we were greeted by Mr. Mahendra and Mr. Mahadev who helped us in co-ordinating with all the schools.
Our collection included a variety of things ranging from toys and books to clothes and uniforms. The clubs involved in the contributions are Interact Club of Sophia High school, Interact Club of Redbridge International, Interact Club of Tapovan School, Interact Club of St. Mary’s Public school, Interact Club of Christ Academy Junior College and Interact Club of Platinum City. Donations were systematically collected from the above mentioned clubs and stored in a godown which was later loaded into the bus.
The plan was to distribute the items in 5 schools and visit 2 residential schools in the foothills and hilltop of MM Hills. The schools which received the donations were Govt. Junior Primary School, Haleyuru, Govt. Senior Primary School, Gorasane, Govt. Junior Primary School, Puthuru, Govt. Senior Primary School, Kombudiki and Govt. Junior Primary School, Tholasikere. The residential schools were Govt. Budakattu Ashram School, Konankere and Govt. Budakattu Ashram School, MM Hills. The students and teachers in all the schools welcomed us with open hearts and received all the items with immense joy and gratitude. Their hospitality was at par and we had a lovely time with them.
The project was planned for two days and the stay was arranged in Jenumale Bhavana. On day two we received the blessings of Lord Mahadeshwara, continued our visits to schools and left from there at around 3:00 p.m. All in all it was a wholesome experience and thoroughly enjoyed by the interactors.
This service project was done in collaboration with Rotary Club of Bangalore Junction, Rotaract Bangalore Orchards, Rotary Orchards, Rotary Platinum City and Rotary E-connect. Our biggest support for this project came from Rtr. Rohan A. and Rtn. Adeeba from Rotaract Bangalore Orchards and Rotary Orchads respectively.
When you decide to do a good deed, the whole universe helps you in doing it and that’s exactly what happened.
