Launch of Adult Literacy programme
The Interact Club Of Marians organised the launching of the Adult Literacy programme – Project DISHA on 29th October 22 in the school campus. This is an initiative of RI District 3190-Literacy Committee in collaboration with Rotary Clubs of RI District 3190-in the focus area of Basic Education & Literacy and Rotary India Literacy Mission “Each one Teach One”. The programme commenced with the Invocation dance by Trupti G Nayak of Grade 8.. Pratiksha Gowda of Grade 10,presented a poem composed by her on Literacy.
Rtn Shashi Diwakar, Past Zonal Governor was the chief guest for the day. The programme was launched with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries amidst recitation of Shlokas by the students The books related to the basic education and literacy was released by the dignitaries.
The Adult Literacy Program District Chair – Mr Subramanyam briefed the students about the project DISHA, its implementation and goals. Few teachers and students will work as volunteers to provide functional literacy classes to non literate adults. The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks by Ayeera of Grade 9.
