Onam is a festival celebrated in Kerala, India. It is a festival celebrating the harvest. It is one of the most celebrated festivals in India.Onam festival has been a part of South Indian culture for years now. People from Kerala mostly celebrate this ten days festival. It is celebrated between August and September. The festival revolves around the legend of the King Mahabali.
The ten days celebrations consist of various events such as Pulikali, Thumbi Thulal, Onathapan, etc. People irrespective of race, caste gender, creed celebrate Onam festival. Then, the people also adorn their houses and places with pookalam, which is like a flower rangoli. It is quite pretty and makes the place more beautiful.
On the sacred occasion of onam festival students of St. Marys Public School (Jr School), celebrated it by making rangolis using flowers. Students from Class 1 to 4 participated in this interclass competition and made beautiful flower rangolis (pookalam)
In the competition only different kind of flowers were used to make rangolis and students excepted this challenge beautiful and made some amazing rangolis with their creative ideas.
