The 67th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great splendour at St. Mary’s Public School on 2 November 2023. The students of STD V to IX performed a heartfelt dance, a melodious choir song, a group song, an entertaining monologue, and a diverse and educational fancy dress.
The event was a true celebration of Karnataka, as the students spoke about the state’s rich history, its unique qualities, and its story so far, highlighting its contribution to the Indian subcontinent. Mrs. Sarvamangala, the head of the Kannada department, delivered a passionate speech about the importance of Kannada in the state, its ethos, and corresponding culture. She enlightened the audience about the tolerance and power of adapting/assimilating that underlines all Kannada-speaking people’s lives, and how it is reflected in the state’s diverse and inclusive society.
The celebration was a true reflection of the state’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of unity that defines its people.
