Republic Day is a national holiday in India commemorating the adoption of the Constitution of India, and the country’s transition to a Republic which came into effect on 26 January 1950. Republic day is commonly associated with parades, political speech, cultural events and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of India.
As the Indian flag can be seen waving across the country today, let’s take a look at how SMPS celebrated republic day.
The day began with prayers invoking the gods to bless us all. Prayers were conducted in different languages such as Sanskrit, Urdu, and English and students read verses from the Bible, Gita and Quran invoking the blessings of God.
A student presented the significance of Republic Day in Kannada language.
The school choir performed a song, a beautiful rendition of patriotism. The students then performed a dance portraying different states and their culture. The show was spectacular. The children were amazing.
Our Principal delivered a motivational speech to inspire the children to be skillful citizens of tomorrow.
The winners of various competitions such as Siri Kannada awards and Rangotsav awards were awarded by the principal and the vice principal of the school. The program ended with the National anthem.
