“Alumni are like chapters in the book of the institution’s history, each contributing to its rich narrative.”
St. Mary’s Public School hosted an alumni meet called ‘Marian Gold’ on February 10th, 2024. This event aimed to strengthen the sense of community among former students and foster a feeling of pride and loyalty among the school alumni. The event began with a prayer led by the Headmistress and a reading from the Holy Bible. Dignitaries then lit a mother lamp to sanctify the occasion and guarantee purity and divinity throughout. The Vice Principal welcomed everyone with a warm address and the school anthem. The chief guest for the event, Rev. Dr. Vivek Gundimi, an alumnus of the school and Associate Pastor of the Richmond Town Methodist Church, was introduced by the Vice Principal. The chairman and the principal then felicitated the chief guest.
Rev. Dr. Vivek Gundimi addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech about the significance of a student’s experience in school. The SMPS Choir enraptured the audience with their melodious renditions, following which, a presentation filled with memories of the bygone years evoked nostalgia in the audience. This was followed by an emotional and touching speech from the alumni of St. Mary’s Public School – Tejaswini (Asst. Professor, MS Ramaiah) and Alitta (Research Asst., Momentum). The principal then addressed the audience, and the enthusiastic audience was kept engaged by music and food. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Pinky Roy, HOD English, and the national anthem leaving the attendees with a sense of pride and loyalty towards their alma mater.
