The Jawahar Bal Manch organization has a noble objective of discovering and nurturing the hidden talents of Indian children aged 7 to 18 years. It aims to instill social values, creativity, and innovation in them, and encourage active participation in social and national causes while upholding democratic, secular, and socialist ideals. On Children’s Day in 2023, Jawahar Bal Manch organized a national-level dance competition called the ‘AajaNachle Dance Competition’ for children between 15 and 18 years old at Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru.
St. Mary’s Public School participated in this group dance competition with the theme ‘Save Female Babies’. The team was spearheaded by the Middle School Kannada teacher, Mrs. Padmavati. The school’s dance team won the Consolation Ist Prize, consisting of Trupti G Nayak, V. Shirley Fernandes, Mohita A, Bhavana M B, Madhumitha R, Ayeera Fathima Khanum, A Sarika, and Diksha Bist.
Apart from the competition, Jawahar Bal Manch also awarded students who have shown exceptional talent and achievements with the ‘Best Achiever’s Award.’ The award was presented to Ms Aditi Anand (X), Ms Eman Yousuff (X), and Ms Trupti G Nayak (IX), and included a trophy, a medal, and a certificate of recognition.
