On 18 November 2023, St. Mary’s Public School organized intraschool competitions to celebrate Children’s Day for students from STD V to IX. The competitions included a collage-making and a vegetable/fruit carving competition which were held division-wise and house-wise. Two teams from each house representing all three divisions – A (STD IX), B (STD VII & VIII), and C (STD V & VI) participated in one competition each.
The theme of the collage-making competition was ‘Harmony in Unity’, and the participants were required to create collages that reflected this theme. On the other hand, the vegetable/fruit carving competition called for participants to showcase their creativity by transforming fruits and vegetables into edible art.
To evaluate the participants’ work, the judges used a detailed rubric that considered essential elements such as teamwork, creativity, presentation, use of colour, and more. The competitions lasted for an hour, and the participants had to present their completed work within this time frame. The event created a competitive and fun atmosphere that added to the celebrations.
