Bagless Day was conducted on 17 August 2023 to promote practical learning, fun activities associated with learning, and to ensure novelty in the learners’ experience in school.Students from all classes were instructed not to carry their school bags or books. They were also asked not to bring any stationery with them. Various activities were conducted by each teacher in their respective class slots in all the grades.
The Grade V students were thrilled to participate in an array of fun games such as the ‘Bang Bang Game’, Memory/Concentration games, ‘Call My Bluff/Two Truths and a Lie’, Word Building, The Riddle Game, and Dumb Charades. The Grade VI students had a fantastic time playing various Memory Games, Communication Games, and expressing their opinions about the latest news. They also engaged in a group quiz that fostered teamwork and collaboration.
The Grade VII students were excited to take part in multiple games such as the ‘Stand up or Sit down’ game, and the ‘7UP’ game, and share their hobbies and interests with their classmates. They also participated in quizzes that tested their knowledge and problem-solving skills. The Grade VIII students had a thrilling day playing the ‘Hangman’ word/phrase guessing game, the ‘Stand up or Sit down’ game, ‘Chinese Whispers’, and a picture identification game. They also conducted a seminar in class, where they spoke about their personal rapport with various subjects, reflected on their likes and dislikes, solved various puzzles, and played a Kannada Word Swap game.
The Bagless Day of August 2023 in St. Mary’s Public School was an excellent opportunity for students to explore their creative side, engage in team-building activities, and enhance their problem-solving skills.
