“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others” ~ Marcus Cicero.
St. Mary’s Public School celebrated ‘Appreciation Day’ on 28 November 2023 to acknowledge and honour the significance of the roles played by our non-teaching and administrative staff. It is easy to take for granted their hard work and contribution in the daily rush of activities, but their efforts are invaluable to the smooth functioning of the school. The key idea of this day is gratitude. Gratitude and appreciation are the cornerstones of a fulfilling life. In our fast-paced world, where time is a precious commodity, it is easy to overlook the simple yet profound practice of expressing gratitude.
The celebration began with the student emcees introducing the importance of the day, and was followed by a prayer and a reading from the Bible. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by the Junior School Co-ordinator Mrs Prema Elizabeth. The program featured a delightful dance performance by pre-primary students, a soulful choir song by the Middle School choir, and an energetic dance performance by the middle school students.
The Head of Finance and Operations Mr Kurien Abraham addressed the audience and this was succeeded by an appreciation and felicitation of each one of St. Mary’s Public School’s non-teaching staff and helpers.
The high school students concluded the program with a mesmerizing dance performance. The principal gave a moving closing address and a heartfelt vote of thanks was given to all who made the day memorable. This event was an excellent reminder of the value of gratitude and how it can positively impact our lives.
