The Annual Day celebrations of St. Mary’s Public School were held on 22nd July 2023. This grand occasion provided an excellent platform for the students, teachers, and parents to come together and celebrate the achievements and talents of our budding stars. The aim was to encourage students to attain a better future.
The opening prayer was led by the Assistant Vicar of St. Mary’s Cathedral Rev. Fr. Paul Benny to invoke the blessings of God. The Chief Guest for the event was Ms Soumala Sarkar, Senior Strategy leader at Accenture. As a leader, her mantra is to learn from everywhere, anywhere, and everyone. She believes that respectful networking, patience, and empathy can help navigate cultural limitations. Acknowledging cultural and personality-based nuances of individuals can work wonders in building enduring connections. Additionally, several other dignitaries and special guests graced the occasion with their presence, adding to the significance of the event.
The school anthem was played and subsequently, the audience was addressed by the Vice Principal of St. Mary’s Public School, Mrs Vanitha Jacob Deepak. In the Welcome Address, the Vice Principal emphasized the long, arduous and successful journey of St. Mary’s Public School and the importance of celebrating the achievements of students who are the essence of this institution. This address was followed by an Annual Report presentation by the Principal of St. Mary’s Public School, Mrs Ranjusha M.
The limelight of the event was the prizes, awards, rolling trophies, and other honours distributed to the best and brightest of St. Mary’s Public School for the academic year 2022-2023. Merit prizes – up to three ranks, awards for 100% attendance, and Roll of Honour for each grade and section from Junior, Middle and High School were presented by the dignitaries. Special prizes were presented for all the rank holders and achievers of the outgoing class ten.
The cultural program that commenced after prize distribution was led by student emcees, Emaan Yousuff, Nyshita V and Abdul Raheem Zaid. This half of the evening showcased a vibrant cultural extravaganza through performances that left the audience spellbound. Students from various grades displayed their wondrous talents in dance and music. The performances were a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary art forms, captivating the hearts of everyone present. The theme for this year’s Annual Day was embracing diversity, and inspiring unity. The school premise was adorned with colourful decorations representing different cultures, and traditions, from around the country.
The Annual Day ended on a positive and grateful note with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs Eveleen Vincent and the national anthem.
