Theme:“Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present”
St. Mary’s Public School celebrated its Annual Prize-cum-Annual Day for the Senior Section on Saturday, 29 August 2026, with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The programme was organised under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Ranjusha M and under the incharge of Ms. Sharada N, the Cultural Coordinator. The celebration brought together students, teachers, parents and distinguished guests to commemorate the achievements of the students and showcase their talents.
The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the beginning of a new journey. The gathering was then welcomed by Mrs. Sahera Ara Begum, Vice Principal, followed by the School Anthem.
The Annual Report was presented by Dr. Ranjusha M, Principal, highlighting the school’s accomplishments and significant activities during the academic year. This was followed by the felicitation and introduction of the Chief Guest, Air Commodore Sunil T. Ninan (Retd.). The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and shared words of encouragement and inspiration with the students.
One of the major highlights of the celebration was the Prize Distribution Ceremony, during which deserving students were honoured for their academic, co-curricular and other achievements. The teaching and non-teaching staff were also felicitated for their valuable contribution to the school.
The cultural programme added colour and vibrancy to the celebration. Students presented a wide range of performances based on the theme of honouring the past while celebrating the present. The performances included an invocation dance, skits depicting life before and after mobile phones, celebrations of nature, Punjabi folk dance, a presentation on motherhood, a skit on the theme of the Annual Day, tribal dance, technology-themed performances, village folk traditions, retro versus modern life, India’s history and heritage, college life and aspirations, Kalbelia dance, a tribute to the armed forces, a journey through generations, celebrations of talent, and presentations on historical heroes.
The programme concluded with the Grand Finale, followed by the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
The Annual Prize-cum-Annual Day celebration was a memorable occasion that successfully blended achievement, culture, tradition and modernity. It provided a platform for students to display their talents and achievements while reminding everyone of the importance of cherishing the past and embracing the present. The event concluded on a joyful and inspiring note, leaving the audience with lasting memories.
