Where Young Minds Met the World
“Think globally. Speak confidently. Lead diplomatically.”
The corridors of Anthony Claret School came alive with the spirit of diplomacy, debate, and global awareness as ACMUN 2026 was held on 21st and 22nd August 2026. The two-day conference brought together 450 participants, creating an energetic forum where young minds explored international issues, exchanged ideas, and experienced the world of Model United Nations.
A total of 38 delegates representing 10 schools participated in the conference, while 28 additional delegates joined through various social media platforms. St. Mary’s Public School was proudly represented by six enthusiastic delegates—Syeda Rida, Aliya Gouhar, and Syed Yasir Arafat of Grade IX, along with P. S. Syed Mohammed, Sushyam, and Sarah Saneen of Grade X.
A Grand Beginning
The conference opened with a vibrant Inaugural Ceremony at the AC Auditorium. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the opening programme featured captivating music and dance performances, followed by the introduction of the Chairpersons of the various committees. Their presence and words set the stage for two days of stimulating debate and diplomatic engagement. At 10:30 a.m., the delegates moved to their respective committee rooms. The transformation was remarkable—students stepped into the roles of diplomats, representatives, and policymakers, ready to defend positions, negotiate solutions, and engage in meaningful discussions.
Throughout the conference, delegates actively participated in committee proceedings, presenting arguments, questioning viewpoints, negotiating with fellow delegates, and attempting to find common ground on important issues. The sessions tested their research skills, public speaking, critical thinking, diplomacy, teamwork, and ability to think on their feet. For the students of St. Mary’s Public School, ACMUN was more than a competition. It was an opportunity to step beyond textbooks and experience the challenges of international diplomacy first-hand.
The excitement reached its peak on 22nd August at 5:00 p.m., when the much-awaited results were announced. The St. Mary’s contingent celebrated a special achievement when Syeda Rida of Grade IX A was awarded a Verbal Mention for her commendable performance. Her recognition was a proud moment for the school and reflected the confidence, preparation, and dedication displayed by the entire contingent.
ACMUN 2026 was a memorable journey of ideas, voices, negotiation, and leadership. It encouraged students to look at world affairs from different perspectives and taught them the importance of listening, reasoning, cooperation, and respectful disagreement. The participation of the six students from St. Mary’s Public School was a testament to their courage to step forward, speak with confidence, and embrace new challenges.

The conference concluded with memories, new experiences, and renewed confidence—reminding everyone that great leaders are shaped when young minds are given the opportunity to speak, question, negotiate, and lead.
