THE 33RD ANNUAL SPORTS MEET OF ST. MARY’S PUBLIC SCHOOL was held on 9th November, 2023. The sports day was commenced by the arrival of the chief guest, Mrs ShwethaN. She was escorted by the Scouts and Guides of St. Mary’s Public School. She was accompanied by the Vicar of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Very Reverend Father Kauma Ramban, Board members, Principal MrsRanjusha M, Vice Principal Mrs Vanitha Jacob Deepak, Senior School Co-ordinator Mrs Mariam Mammen, Middle School Co-ordinator Mrs Joycy Joseph, and other dignitaries. .

Our Very Reverend Father Kauma Ramban, Vicar of St. Mary’s Cathedral led us in prayer and blessed the gathering.

The welcome address was given by our Principal, MRS RANJUSHA M
It is with great pleasure that we introduced our honorable chief guest Mrs Swetha N. She is an internationally acclaimed women’s volleyball player of extraordinary talent and distinction.
The FELICITATION OF THE CHIEF GUEST and presentation of a memento by the chairman and a bouquet by the school captain was done immediately. Mr. Itty K Cherian, Secretary of the JSO Society, Principal Mrs Ranjusha M, and Head of finance and operations Mr. Kurien P Abraham felicitated the chief guest Mrs Swetha N.

The chief guest was invited to hoist the flag which was followed by the school anthem.

A well-executed march past is a symphony of perfectly coordinated movements. We witnessed the March Past by the school band of St. Mary’s Public School. We witnessed their glory as they came marching with pride, upholding our motto of “GROWTH, ENLIGHTENMENT, AND FREEDOM.”

Our honorable chief guest declared the thirty-third annual sports meet open by releasing the balloons and doves. This was followed by the introductionof teams and leaders.

A significant and solemn ritual, oath-taking is a commitment to uphold values, principles, and responsibilities. The Sports Vice Captain of St. Mary’s Public School Madiha Khanum took the pledge on behalf of all the participants.

The Torch Lighting Ceremony is a time-honoured tradition that symbolizes the birth of the sporting flame and the burning passion of our athletes. The torch is a symbol of the spirit of unity, friendship, and competition. As the torch was ignited, the act served as a reminder of the values that sports instill—discipline, perseverance, and the pursuit of one’s personal best.

The torch was being lit by the physical instructor of St. Mary’s Public Junior School, Mrs. Archana V Mohanan. The first torchbearer was the Head Boy Shahear who hande it over to the Head Girl Eman Yousuff. After getting passed to all the team leadres the Sports Vice-Captain Madiha Khanum who handed lit torch to the chief guest Mrs Swetha N. This was followed by address by the CHIEF GUEST who inspired and encouraged the participants with her motivating words.

The program then moved on with the prize distribution for events that had already been completed, the chief guest was invited to give away the medals and certificates to the winners of the Throw ball, Volleyball and Shot put competitions.

Boys of STD 8th& 9th presented a human pyramid display – an extraordinary spectacle that combines strength, balance, and a spirit of collaboration that showcases the ability of individuals to come together, support one another, and reach new heights—both literally and metaphorically!

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FOR 400M, 100M, & 50M was done immediately after the

UP-U-GO display.  It was then followed by the running race which included

It was then followed by the Prize Distribution for 200M. After the prize distribution the girls of STD 8, 9 & 10, presented an electrifying Aerobics Display that left us energized, inspired, and in awe. It was a dynamic showcase exemplifying grace, and enthusiasm, and celebrating movement and music. The program proceeded with the SHUTTLE RELAY.

This was followed by the parents’ event wherein two teams i.e the male group and the female group performed games. This was followed by the VICTORY MARCH by the participants from STD 5 through STD 10 who marched in victory. It was followed by the prize distribution for the winners of the 4×100 mts shuttle relay race moving on to the Individual Championship of two thousand twenty-three – twenty-four followed by the Rolling Trophies and champion house.A heartfelt gratitude was extended to all the track judges by presenting a token of appreciation by the principal to:

  2. Mr. Manjunath from  Boston Public School
  3. Mr. Ramu from Narayana E Techno Public School

A special thanks was rendered to the nurse for rendering his/her first aid services during the sports events

The VOTE OF THANKS – was done by the Head Girl, EmanYousuff.

The school flag was  lowered by the Pt teacher marking the end of all the events. The flag was handed over to the Head Boy, Syed Shaheer Ahmed who further handed it over to the principal, bringing a ceremonious end to the 33rd Annual Sports Meet of  St. Mary’s Public School.

The event ended with the NATIONAL ANTHEM .
