On August 1st, 2025, Std VI students embarked on an educational excursion bound for the renowned Bakery Training Unit at GKVK (Gandhi Krishi Vigyana Kendra), Bengaluru—a distinguished hub for bakery education operated under the University of Agricultural Sciences for over half a century.
The core session commenced with an illuminating demonstration on cookie-baking techniques. The instructor meticulously explained each step—from ingredient selection and dough preparation to oven temperature control. The students watched intently, visibly captivated by the blend of science and artistry inherent in baking.
While the cookies were baking—a process lasting approximately 30 minutes—the instructor guided the students on a tour of the operational bakery zone. They observed the industrial ovens in action and met the dedicated staff who manage the baking equipment and processes.
Once the cookies emerged golden and aromatic, the students relished the freshly baked treats with evident enjoyment. The lesson had come full circle: from theoretical knowledge to practical, delicious application. As the trip concluded, it was clear the outing had been a resounding success. The students returned to school enriched—not only with delectable cookies but also with a foundational understanding of baking principles and industrial-scale production.
