The 34th Annual Sports Meet of St. Mary’s Public School was a grand success, showcasing exceptional athletic prowess, teamwork, and sportsmanship among its students. The event commenced with the arrival of chief guest, , renowned fencing expert and accomplished athlete, Mr. Lohith N, who was warmly welcomed by the Scouts and Guides of the school. escorted by the band, the principal, and the vice principal. The esteemed members of the board joined in, and the balloons were released, marking the commencement of the sports day.
The event started with the junior sports meet with the theme “Walk- Save the Soil”. The races and activities were fun-filled, with the junior drill being a highlight of the event. The parents’ race was enthusiastic, with parents showcasing their competitive spirit.
In the later part of the day, the senior sports meet was held.The meet featured an array of track and field events, including 50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m races, shuttle relays, and shot put competitions. Students from STD V to X participated in various events, demonstrating their skills and determination.
The highlight of the event included a mesmerizing march past by all the four houses and the school band, a ball display drill program, a power yoga demonstration, and a pyramid display by boys. Prizes were distributed to the winners in various categories, including individual championships and rolling trophies. The Champion House trophy was awarded to St. Peter’s House. The Best Boy Athlete award went to Mohammed Nouman Quereshi, while Sfa Baig took home the Best Girl Athlete award. Other notable awards included the Best Throwball Player and Best Volleyball Player awards.
In his address, Mr. Lohith N emphasized the importance of sports in developing character, discipline, and teamwork.
