The State-Level Fancy Dress Competition, held on 14th November 2024 at Indira Gandhi Bhavan Bharat Jodo Auditorium, Vasanthnagar, turned out to be a grand celebration of creativity, cultural diversity, and youthful talent. The event, organized by Jawahar Bagh Manch, saw the participation of numerous students from across the state, showcasing their skills through various thematic costumes and performances. The highlight of the event was the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Siddaramaiah, and deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Shivakumar who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event not only provided a platform for students to express themselves but also promoted cultural exchange and awareness.
The event began with an energetic and colourful opening ceremony, where the host welcomed the participants and the audience. Traditional music and a cultural dance performance set the stage for what was to come. The Chief Minister was formally introduced to the gathering, and after a few words from the organizing committee, the event was declared open.
The Chief Minister, in his address, commended the participants for their creativity and the effort they had put into their costumes. He emphasized the importance of such events in bringing together young minds and fostering a spirit of unity and inclusivity. His speech also highlighted the government’s continued support for initiatives that encourage arts, culture, and creativity among children. The Chief Minister encouraged students to keep expressing their ideas and talents and urged them to be proud of their cultural heritage.
A team of talented students from primary, Std IV, V &VI of St. Mary’s Public School participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity through a range of vibrant costumes. The students presented their costumes and performances based on various themes, including historical figures, ethnics, sports personalities, and national leaders.
The State-Level Dress Competition provided an excellent platform for students, including those from St. Mary’s Public School, to showcase their talents and express themselves through creative costumes and performances. The event was not only a celebration of artistic expression but also an opportunity to learn about history and culture with emphasis on Freedom Fighters who played a pivotal in our Freedom struggle.
