Pslams 9: 9-10 says
” The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a strong hold in times of trouble. “
In the prevailing COVID 19 situation as well as the ongoing virtual classes, our school felt the significance of keeping a connect with the parents through interaction as it enables us to be aware of the child’s progress. We believe parents and mentors need to hold hand in hand for a balanced growth of each child.
Therefor ,keeping the same objective in mind , the Marian Team held Online Parent Teacher Meet from Grade 6-10 on three consecutive days from 24th of June-26th of June. The meetings were scheduled from 8:30 am – 10 am respectively. It commenced with a Bible reading followed by a welcome note. Our Principal Mrs. Asha Sunil addressed the gathering with an explicit speech on the parent-child relationship, the role of parents in a child’s mental and physical development,on matters pertaining to the running of the school such as the problems faced by school due to lack of school fees coming in, the ongoing construction work in the school premises and so on. The Senior co- ordinator Mrs.Geetha John and the Middle school co-ordinator Mrs. Deepa Sunish gave a brief account on the academic program as well as the online classes during their respective sessions.
The parents were both receptive as well as responsive which made the session an interactive one. The Marian team received a lot of appreciation from parents for their hard work n effort put in on online classes . They infact demanded an extended duration of online classes which we felt should be taken into consideration.
The Parent -Teacher meet was indeed an amazing experience bringing in a hopeful and fruitful academic year coming ahead.
A famous quote says:
When schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school , stay in school longer and like school more. “
