Scouts Day, celebrated on 22nd February each year, marks the birth anniversary of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement. This day is dedicated to the ideals of Scouting and Guides, which include community service, adventure, leadership, teamwork, and outdoor activities. The Scouts and Guides of our school commemorate this day by participating in various outdoor activities, which promote personal growth and teamwork.

The Scouts and Guides, along with Cubs and Bulbuls, embarked on an exciting trekking expedition to Akkayamma Betta, located in Maranayakanahalli, Bengaluru, on 22nd February 2025. The group consisted of enthusiastic students ready to experience the beauty of nature, engage in adventure, and enjoy team-building activities throughout the day.

At 8:30 AM, the students gathered at the school premises, where they boarded the bus for their adventure-filled day. Excitement buzzed in the air as the group made their way to the trekking destination, eagerly anticipating the day’s events. The first halt for breakfast, taking a brief break before the start of the trek. After spending some time in the serene environment, the group continued their journey to Akkayamma Betta. After completing the trek, they gathered for lunch at the same location. The students shared meals in a spirit of camaraderie, recharging their energy for the activities ahead.

Throughout the day, the students engaged in various activities designed to test their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.The students were given an opportunity to showcase their creativity in a drawing competition, where they drew scenes inspired by the nature around them during the trek.Several games were organized to promote teamwork, coordination, and fun: Tug of War: A traditional yet exciting game where the students participated in teams, showing their strength and teamwork skills, Sir Simon Says: A fun-filled game that required attention and quick reflexes. The students followed the commands only when the phrase “Sir Simon says” was mentioned, adding an element of challenge, Blindfold Games: In these activities, students were blindfolded and had to complete tasks based on verbal instructions from their teammates, encouraging trust and communication within the group.These games helped to develop a sense of leadership, trust and team work.

After a day filled with adventure, laughter, and teamwork, the students completed their trek and began the return journey at around 4:00 PM. As the bus made its way back to the school, students shared their experiences and memories from the day, having gained new skills, enjoyed the outdoors, and strengthened their bond with each other.
