World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on June 5th to raise global awareness about environmental protection and conservation. St. Mary’s Public School celebrated the World Environment Day in the main campus of the school on 5th June, 2024.
The students of class X A & B conducted the morning assembly with utmost zeal and enthusiasm to spread the consciousness about being responsible towards mother Earth. They conducted a quiz activity to test everyone’s knowledge on the environment in which they enlightened all present in the assembly that the theme of World Environment Day for 2024 is land restoration, halting desertification and building drought resilience and also that 2024 World Environment Day will be hosted by Saudi Arabia.
The students spread awareness of saving the earth and improving the environment with quotes written on the placards. They also decorated the notice boards to influence others to be responsible towards nature and the environment. One of the teachers sang an inspiring song to lure the audience. It was then followed by a motivating speech by the principal. The program ended with the national anthem.
By celebrating World Environment Day, we can work together towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
