Where Young Voices Found Their Confidence

St. Mary’s Public School witnessed a vibrant celebration of language, confidence, and expression with the Public Speaking Competition held on 11th August 2026. The competition was conducted in English, Kannada, and Hindi, providing students with a wonderful platform to showcase their communication skills, creativity, pronunciation, fluency, and confidence.

The participants were divided into four divisions according to their classes: Division I – Standards III & IV, Division II – Standards V & VI, Division III – Standards VII & VIII, and Division IV – Standards IX & X.

The school basement was transformed into an engaging arena where young speakers confidently stepped forward to express their thoughts before an attentive audience. Each division witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students demonstrating impressive preparation, clarity of speech, effective voice modulation, and confident stage presence.

A special feature of the competition was the inclusion of English, Kannada, and Hindi, allowing students to express themselves in different languages and appreciate the richness of linguistic diversity. The event also encouraged students to overcome stage fear and develop the ability to communicate their ideas effectively. To ensure an unbiased and comprehensive evaluation, three judges were appointed for each division. The judges carefully assessed the participants on various aspects of public speaking, including content, pronunciation, fluency, voice modulation, confidence, expression, and overall presentation.

The competition created an atmosphere of healthy competition and learning. Each participant brought a unique style and perspective to the stage, making the event both enjoyable and enriching. The confident performances of the students reflected the importance of providing children with opportunities to speak, think, and express themselves. The Public Speaking Competition 2026 was not merely a contest; it was a celebration of young voices. It encouraged students to believe in themselves, communicate fearlessly, and discover the power of words.

The school organised a beautiful Pookalam (flower carpet) celebration on 25th August to mark the spirit and cultural traditions of Onam. The event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, teamwork and appreciation for Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.

Students enthusiastically participated in the Pookalam-making activity. They used colourful flowers and leaves to create attractive and traditional floral designs. The activity encouraged students to work together in teams , share their ideas and display their artistic skills.

The school premises looked vibrant and colourful with the beautiful Pookalams created by the students. The celebration created a joyful atmosphere and helped students understand the cultural significance of Onam.

The event concluded with appreciation for all the participants and judged by our esteemed dignitaries- Dr. Ranjusha M- Principal, Mrs. Sahera Ara Begum- vice principal and Mrs Sheela Charles-Academic Head. The Pookalam celebration was memorable and enriching experience for all the students and staff members.

The Primary Section celebrated Pookalam activity on 25th August 2026 with great enthusiasm and joy. The activity was organized to introduce students to the rich cultural traditions associated with Onam and to encourage creativity, teamwork, and appreciation of nature.

Students were dressed in ethnic wear and participated actively in creating beautiful Pookalams using colourful flowers.  They worked together in groups, arranged the flowers creatively, and displayed their artistic skills. The activity also helped children develop cooperation, coordination, and a sense of responsibility.

The activity was a joyful and enriching experience for all the students and successfully promoted creativity, teamwork, cultural awareness, and togetherness among the children.

The students of Class IV A hosted a vibrant and patriotic assembly on August 14th to celebrate Indian Independence Day.

The program commenced with a solemn prayer invoking blessings for the nation, followed by a meaningful Bible reading and a thought for the day. To enrich the students’ vocabulary, a patriotic Word of the Day was presented before everyone solemnly recited the School Pledge and sang the School Anthem. The assembly proceeded with an insightful speech highlighting the significance of Independence Day and honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters, followed by a soulful performance by the school choir. An energetic cultural dance performance celebrating India’s rich heritage enthralled the audience, after which the Principal delivered an inspiring address encouraging young minds to embrace civic duty and national pride. The event concluded on a high note of unity and patriotic fervor with the collective singing of the National Anthem.

As part of the Independence Day celebration Tri Colour Day was organised for the students from Pre- kg to Prep II and craft activity from Std I to Std III on 12th August 2026 to encourage students creativity and developing a sense  of patriotism and love for our  country.

Students enthusiastically participated in making tricolor crafts using saffron white and green materials.  They created beautiful Indian flag, wall hanging, ear bud painting, craft on tree of unity, hand print , tri colour paper activity under the guidance of the teachers.  The activity provided students with an opportunity to explore their artistic skills and enjoyed hands on experience and proudly displayed their creations

The CISCE Regional Athletic Meet for the academic year 2026-27 was conducted on 10 August 2026 at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium, Jayanagar. The event was hosted by Brooklyn Public School, Vijayanagar.

A total of 500 schools participated, with around 1,000 athletes competing in various events. Our school, St. Mary’s Public School, participated under Zone A.

Our students performed commendably and brought pride to the institution. In the Long Jump event, Rithish Varshan secured 4th place. In the Under-14 category, Rithish Varshan, along with his team, secured 1st place in the relay event.

The students were accompanied and guided by Mr. Devendra, HOD of Physical Education, who supported and encouraged them throughout the competition.

The meet provided valuable exposure, helping students showcase their sporting talent, develop team spirit, and gain experience at the regional level.

These achievements are a matter of great pride for St. Mary’s Public School, reflecting the dedication, perseverance, and sporting excellence of our students.

The KISA Regional Level Literary Events 2026 was held on 1st August 2026 at St. Francis School, Hongasandra, Bengaluru. Students from St. Mary’s Public School enthusiastically participated in various literary and creative events under the Sub Junior and Junior categories, showcasing their confidence, creativity, and communication skills.

Our students displayed commendable talent and represented the school with great enthusiasm. A notable achievement came from Rasha M of Grade VIII A, who secured Second Prize in Painting under the Sub Junior category. The remaining participants competed in the Junior category across events such as Declamation, Debate, and Poem Writing. They performed confidently and gained valuable experience. Overall, the event provided an excellent platform for students to nurture their literary and artistic skills while promoting creativity, healthy competition, and sportsmanship.
